High School Commencement Exercises

Eleven bright students who began their High School studies in the make ready shack four years ago, were graduated from Tamalpais Union High School on Thursday evening, June 6th, 1912, in the presence of a large and appreciative audience. William J. Losh delivered the address of welcome, Miss Emerita Gillette of Sausalito was heartily encored for an excellent interpretation of Shubert-Liszt piano solo, “Hark, Hark, the Lark.” The Misses O’Shaughnessy on the violin, cello and piano, were heartily encored, as well as the vocal solos of Mrs. Ida Westerberg. Unfortunately Major S. S. Peixotto was unavoidably absent. Prof. E. E. Wood, principal of the High School, delivered an interesting address and spoke very highly of the excellent commercial studies of Miss Fannie Speigel of Sausalito. Mr. Clinton Folger, chairman of the Trustees, presented diplomas to William J. Losh, Alphild G. Lundquist, Dorothy Wosser, Irene Goldthwaite, Emerita Gillette, Beatrice Craw, Olita Johnson, Joshua Westerberg, Christine Simpson and Elizabeth Jewett.  Miss Helen Ables delivered the final address.
