Public School Graduates

We give below the average standing of pupils at the examination for graduation from the public schools of the county.  The examination was held at Tomales and San Rafael.  Fourteen candidates presented themselves, and all were successful in securing the coveted diploma.  Six school districts were represented, as follows:

The highest average standing was secured by DAISY BENNETT of San Rafael.  LILLIE HAMLIN of Sausalito, one of the youngest members of the class, obtained the second place, and took the highest rank in grammar.  The highest rank in spelling was taken by ENNIO MARTINELLI, of Lincoln district.  ANNIE FARRELL of San Rafael, JAMES GERICKE of Clark, and ENNIO MARTINELLI of Lincoln district secured a perfect record in mental arithmetic.  Some excellent work was done by pupils of the second grade who tried the examination.  Noticeable among these were MABEL HOLLAND and FRED WOODWORTH of Tomales, who scored 96 per cent in geography and physiology.
