Cardinal Newman’s sublime poem, “The Dream of Gerontius,” with music by Sir Edward Elgar, will be enacted by the students of Dominican College as part of the commencement exercises to be held Tuesday afternoon, June 17, at the college.
Miss Marguerite Harrigan is to interpret the role of Gerontius. The prologue, “The Eternal Years,” will be spoken by Miss Elizabeth Waterman. Many of the graduating class are in the case. The graduates who will receive junior college diplomas are:
Estelle Gassner, Regina McCauley, Dorothy Hall, Kathleen parkin and Geraldine Stephany.
High school diplomas and medals will be awarded to Marion Adams, Carmelita Hunt, Blanche Kengla, Lillian Leland, Ruth Marion, Glendene McBride, Charlotte Merkley, Eugenia O’Connell, Agnes Oliver, Evelyn Price, Elizabeth Radgesky, Marcella Radgesky, Ada Shadbourne, Frances Snitzer, Helene Sturdivant, Florence Wainwright, Dorothy Wall, Elizabeth Waterman, Annabel Wheaton and Margaret Wooster.
The graduates and medalists of the School of Music are Dorothy Blaney
and Evelyn Phelan.
