| [Info] With every probate "record" (or "case"),
there is a "list of filings" (or "register of actions") which is simply
a list of documents that were included in the probate. The San
Francisco Superior Court microfilmed the "list of filings" for each
probate, and afterwards gave the originals of the "list of filings" to
the California Genealogical Society (CGS). But, the Superior Court retained
the actual probate documents. The originals that CGS received covers the
years 1906 through 1940. This San Francisco Probate Index is an
index of the CGS originals.
Type legend: D—a regular file resulting from "death"; M—a guardianship file ('M' for minor); and I—a file for an individual who was deemed incompetent.
