Eleanor Martin Annie Donahue

I am researching the lives of Eleanor Martin and Annie Donahue. Both ladies were sisters of John Gately Downey, the seventh governor of California. All there were born in South County Roscommon Ireland.

Eleanor was married to Edward Martin. She was known as the Czarina of San Francisco high society for decades. She married Edward Martin in 1869, and lived at 2040 Broadway, until her death in 1928.

Annie married Peter Donahue, the founder of Union Iron and Brass and PG&E, among other enterprises. In 1862.. She died on Dec. 12, 1896.
