We went there occasionally as teenagers in the 1950's. It was magnificent. I couldn't believe the upper balconies. One almost required an oxygen mask it seemed to high up. We climbed the stairs to the very top of the upper balcony and what a sight. The screen looked so small.
What a historical loss to the City.
In the 1940's our mother took us to the Orpheum or the Golden Gate. They had a beautiful organ. I think they had entertainment on the organ during intermission or before the show started.
