it was the palace. it was a few door down from the old paramount theater and two doors from howards, there was a doublewide stairway going up the front from market st. and a small back stairway from golden gate st. it was the minnesota fats pool hall of the west coast, they had big tournments there in the 40s and 50s, i know because i used to shine shoes there when i was a kid: : My dad was an electrition in Sacramento. In the 1970's he and a bunch of guys went to San Francisco to demolish and rewire the old billards hall on market street. He said it was next to Howard's Clothing Store. That has since gone too. Do you know the name of the Billards hall? He has several items that came out of the building. Like Tiffany Lamps and would like to donate to someone, but needs to know where it came from first. Thanks
