I found an interesting resource for fisheries in the San Francisco Bay area: United States Commission of Fish and Fisheries, Commissioner's Report 1888, printed 1892. It has an excellent chart of Fishing Stations and Principal Fishing Grounds around the Bay. What is interesting to note that is at least seven locations indicated as "Chinese Camp" along the WEST COAST of San Francisco Bay, extending from just north of San Rafael down to just north of Redwood City. There are NO camps indicated on the WEST COAST bordering the Pacific Ocean from Ballenas Bay down to about El Granada, or within the Golden Gate.
