I don't know if it is true that it is the largest all wood structure west of the Mississippi River. But, I would think it would be a historic landmark if it was. But, it doesn't appear on the lists I have:

I checked with the San Francisco Assessor's office online database:

The parcel (0874 003) was built in 1905, has four stories, 78 units, and is all wood frame.
