My GGGGrandfather was George Roeben, He owned Charley's Rancho Boarding House. Yes, he was a Crip.
Trying to find info on the Pacifc Gardens. His obituary states in 1855 Mr. Roeben opened the Pacific Gardens at the Southwest Corner of Third and Harrision St. as a Pleasure resort in direct opposition to Russ Gardens, which were located on the North side of Harrison street, between sith and Seventh.
Family notes have it the with the first to have a Carousel, ballon assension, bar, dance floor, bowling alley and gynmasium for prize fights. It was sold at auction on June 15, 1862due to land being leased.
Thanks.
