: Just learned that a relative died in October 1869 in Nevada and the remains were interred in San Francisco. Without the name of a cemetery, any suggestions on how to begin working on this puzzle? Have any of you successfully tracked a deceased family member from SF to Colma?

Do you know which SF cemetery where they were buried? There is information about where they were moved. Take a look at our pages at:

If you knew the religious or ethnic affiliation, you might be able to narrow it down for Catholic, Jewish, Chinese, Italian, etc.

Though, you may need to just contact each of them:

Hope this helps,

Ron
