I worked at Southern Pacific Hospital from 1963-1966 in the Personnel Department.
Southern Pacific sold the hospital to a non profit board for $1.00 in 1965-1966 and closed the facility a few years later as they could not finance the renovations needed to compete with the established medical centers in San Francisco. The Administrator at the time of closing was Henry Short who lived in Tiburon, CA. Dr. Vance Strange was the Chief of Staff.
The hospital had 450 beds was a highly respected teaching hospital and provided good care for the S.P. Employees. They started to take private patients in about 1964 but this never really took off.
I don't know who took charge of the medical records. You might contact Union Pacific Railroad who purchased Southern Pacific. I do know that the facility is now operated as Mercy Terrace, a retirement center operated by the Sister's of Mercy, Burlingame.
Good luck and best wishes,
