County Gets Ranch Under Pedrotti Will

Crippled and blind residents of Marin County will benefit through the will of the late Mathias J. Pedrotti, who bequeathed his 263-acre ranch adjoining Hamilton Field, at Ignacio, to the county in memory of his wife, the late Henrietta G. Pedrotti.

Income from the farm, which is to be known as the "Henrietta G. Pedrotti Memorial Farm," will be used for the aid and relief of bona fide crippled and blind residents of the county.

The will provides that if the county attempts to sell or mortgage the property its right to the land will be forfeited and it will revert to the Pedrotti heirs.

The ranch, conducted for many years by Pedrotti as a dairy, is valued at $40,000, and its proximity to the bombing base will probably increase its value considerably.

Those receiving bequests in the will are Miss Eva Pedrotti, a niece, of Petaluma, $500; Savina Cerini, a niece, of Switzerland, $5000; three blind cousins in Switzerland, $3000 equally divided; Annie L. Strain, a sister-in-law, 50 shares of Bank of San Rafael stock and 50 shares of First National Bank stock; William L. Strain, brother-in-law, $2000; Eugene Strain, of Oregon, nephew of Mrs. Pedrotti, $1500, and Manuel Andrade, employee on the Pedrotti ranch, $500.

The balance of the bank stock is willed to the nieces and nephews and their children in this country and abroad to be held in trust until 1960.

The executors under the will are William P. Murray, who succeeded Pedrotti as president of the Bank of San Rafael, and Stephen Pedrotti, who will serve without bond.

Attorneys for the estate are Jordan L. Martinelli, Miss Genevieve Martinelli and the firm of Martinelli & Martinelli.
