Garage Founderís Estate Estimated Over $100,000
The will of Wilbur I. Thayer, founder of the Thayer Garage on Fourth Street in San Rafael, was field for probate yesterday with an estate estimated at well over $100,000.
Thayer, who was 79, died July 21 after suffering a heart attack at his home at 157 Woodland Avenue, San Rafael.
His will, dated Dec. 11, 1959, was filed in Marin County Superior Court by Judge Leonard A. Thomas as executor.
It bequeaths $95,000 outright to his heirs: his wife, Josephine H. Thayer, $30,000; Mrs. Alica Bootnikoff of San Rafael, $25,000; Mrs. Helen Bunt of San Rafael, $10,000; Mrs. Elly Wolf of San Francisco, $10,000; Mrs. Gladys White of San Francisco, $10,000 and Jean Duffy Peters, the former wife of his nephew, Parker Thayer, San Rafael, $10,000.
The remainder of the estate is divided equally between Sunny Hills Orphanage, St. Vincentís School for Boys and the Shrinerís Hospital for Cripple Children in San Francisco.
The estate includes two parcels of land, $2,500 cash and the remainder in securities.
