According to the CA Birth Index the following children were born to a Melrose father and Strubel mother: Margaret and Mildred on June 4, 1911 in San Francisco and Viola on March 16, 1913, also in S.F.

The CA Death Index: James Melrose died January 14, 1906, age 58.
