Aged Citizen Passes On In Sonoma County
Word was received Thursday of the death of Benjamin Price which occurred in the early morning of that day at the Healdsburg Hospital.
Mr. Price was a native of Wales, a resident of Mill Valley for the past 17 years and was 77 years old. For 13 years he conducted a cigar stand here at the location now occupied by A. Muntz. Three years ago he retired from business and has spent his time enjoyably since in visiting different localities. In May he went to the Geysers in Sonoma county, where he has spent the summer. His illness was of three weeks’ duration, two of which were spent at the Healdsburg Hospital.
In a sense Mr. Price was a lonely man as he had no relatives in this country, but his genial spirit rose superior to this situation and he appeared to get much enjoyment out of life in his quiet, unobtrusive way.
He was a member of the Order of Elks and affiliated with the Masonic bodies of Mill Valley. His funeral services will be conducted by the Masons at their hall in Mill Valley tills morning at 11 o’clock.
Mr. Price will be remembered for his kindly qualities, his loyalty to friends and to America, his country by adoption.
