Theodore S. Valencia, a son of F. L. and Mrs. C. C. Valencia, died in Bakersfield on Monday, Theodore was for many years a resident of San Rafael, his birthplace.
Marin County Tocsin
Saturday, April 1, 1911
The news of the death of Theodore Valencia came as a great shock to his friends in Novato, for he had many here and elsewhere. The funeral took place Saturday morning from his home at Ignacio and was attended by a large number of friends and relatives. The floral pieces were unusually beautiful. Mr. Valencia was a Spanish War veteran, having served in the Philippines as officer and interpreter in the United States Infantry 4th Company D. The flag [that] was carried by that company in the war was draped over the casket. Those who acted as pall bearers were: William Glinderman, of San Francisco; William Dunn, of Fresno; Alfred Barrow, Val Clarke, Charles Dufficy, and Manuel Yguera of San Rafael.
