Commits Suicide After Merry Dinner
Saloon Keeper Entertains His Friends and Shoots Himself
[Special Dispatch to The Call]
San Rafael, April 30 - Tianquello (sic) Grandi, a despondent saloon keeper at Point Reyes, place the barrel of a rifle against the roof of his mouth and blew off the top of his head last night.
Before killing himself he invited all his friends to a dinner and afterward they enjoyed a good time. Grandi was the merriest one in the party. He laughed, joked and seemed happy. There was no hint nor did he suggest that his intentions were to kill himself.
Coroner Sawyer held an inquest this morning and said that Grandi probably committed the act while temporarily demented from brooding, as he was of a melancholy disposition. Grandi was 33 years old and unmarried.
