Private service will be held tomorrow for Anna E. Simpson, a 50-year Marin resident who died Sunday in a local convalescent hospital after a short illness. She was 77.
Mrs. Simpson was born in Texas and came to Marin in the 1920s, living in San Anselmo, San Quentin village and Woodacre. She was 23 years in Woodacre before entering a convalescent hospital late in 1974.
A homemaker most of her life, she became a nurse’s aide at Hamilton Air Force Base in World War II and afterwards a vocational nurse at Ross General and Marin General hospitals. She retired in the early 1960s.
She was active in the San Geronimo Valley Presbyterian Church and the Woodacre Improvement Club.
She is survived by a daughter, Thelma Dickson, and two sons, William H. Simpson and Robert L. Simpson, all of Woodacre.
Interment will be at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery, San Rafael.
