Jane Wesley Peak, 61

Funeral was today for Larkspur businesswoman Jane Wesley Peak, who died in a local hospital Sunday after a short illness. She was 61.

Miss Peak was a native of San Francisco who moved to Larkspur at the age of 18. She was a descendant of Capt. Charles Henry Hewitt, a sea captain who arrived in San Francisco in 1850.

For 34 years, Miss Peak who resumed her maiden name after her divorce in 1971 from Ernest P. Epidendio was a co-owner of the Rainbow Market on Magnolia Avenue.

She ran for the Larkspur City Council in 1960, coming within five votes of winning a seat. She ran again in 1966 and 1972.

She was a member of the Greebrae Property Owners Association, the Druids, and the Larkspur Chamber of Commerce.

Since her retirement from the grocery business in 1972, Miss Peak was a home remodeling consultant.

She is survived by two sons, George W. Parrish of San Rafael and Ernest W. Epidendio of Larkspur, and two grandchildren.

Burial was in Tamalpais Cemetery. The family prefers contributions to Guide Dogs for the Blind.
