Arthur F. Walsh Dies In Hospital
Arthur F. Walsh, San Rafael resident for the past 55 years and a Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Co. engineer, died this morning at a local hospital following a short illness. He was 55.
A native of San Rafael, Walsh resided at 536 D Street.
At the completion of high school in San Rafael, he entered the employ of the P. R. & T. He was employed in the engineering division of the company in San Francisco for 22 years and then came to Marin county to set up the P. T. & T. engineering division here. He managed the San Rafael P. T. & T. engineering department for 18 years.
He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, a company fraternity.
His father, Walter A. Walsh, had been a long time hardware store owner in San Rafael before his death 50 years ago. His mother, Mary Walsh, who died several months ago, had lived 76 years in San Rafael.
He is survived by a brother, Walter A. Walsh, a San Quentin prison correctional officer; and a sister, Mrs. Marie Grimm, San Rafael, the wife of E. H. Grimm, a paint contractor.
Funeral services will be held at 9:15 a.m. Monday at the Keaton mortuary, San Rafael, with burial at Mt. Olivet cemetery.
A Death Notice in the same paper adds that he was the uncle of Walter E. Walsh and Edward and Betty Grimm.
