San Rafael resident
Services for Edith Sylvia Eklund Rawles of San Rafael will be at the family home at noon Friday. Mrs. Rawles died Sept. 17 at home. She was 82.
She was born in Norspur (sic) and reared in the Fort Bragg area. She was a practicing chiropractor, helping loggers in Fort Bragg.
Following her marriage to Norris Rawles, she commuted from Ukiah to Fort Bragg to continue her practice. She also completed a correspondence course in clothing design.
The Rawleses moved to San Rafael in 1943. Mr. Rawles was the former public works chief in San Rafael.
She enjoyed and was accomplished at gardening, sewing, cooking and art. She was a member of the Marin Star Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Hi-Twelvettes of Marin and the San Rafael Improvement Club.
Mrs. Rawles is survived by her husband, Norris Rawles of San Rafael; two sons, Norris Rawles Jr. and Jeffrey Rawles, both of Novato; and three grandchildren.
Memorial contributions are preferred to the American Cancer Society or to a favorite charity.
