H. W. MURRAY, Sr.
Harold W. Murray Sr., 31 year resident of Novato and Petaluma, died today at a Southern Sonoma convalescent hospital after a long illness.
Murray, 81, was a native of Nebraska and was reared in Minnesota.
He was disabled during World War I while serving in the Navy.
He came to California 31 years ago and lived in Novato and Southern Sonoma. At the time of his death, he resided at 2 Oakwood Drive, Petaluma.
His last job was working as a fireman at the Marinship naval construction area in Sausalito during World War II.
He belonged to the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion of Novato.
Survivors include his wife, LaVada Murray of Petaluma; a son, Harold W. Murray Jr. of Novato; a daughter, Maydell Duncan of Novato, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Marin Memorial Gardens in Novato.
