Roberta Ann Allison, 44, of 104 San Felipe Way, Novato, died last night at the home of her sister, Novato school trustee Leonora Doughtery (sic), 2211 Center Road, Novato.
According to Deputy Coroner Eugene Fontaine, death was apparently due to natural causes, but a routine autopsy will be performed.
Mrs. Allison and Mrs. Dougherty were watching television and both dropped off to sleep. When Mrs. Dougherty, who lost her husband, William A. Dougherty of a heart attack on Feb. 24, awoke at 10:53 p.m., she was unable to arouse her sister.
Mrs. Allisonís husband, John F. Allison Jr., and son John F. III, along with another school trustee, Gordon M. Leathers, were in Death Valley camping with a troop of Boy Scouts at the time. Her daughter, Linda Susan, was in Fresno attending a Rainbow Girls convention.
A native of Oakland, Mrs. Allison had lived most of her life in Novato, attending the Old Grant School and San Rafael High School. She had worked for the Marin Municipal Water District prior to her marriage 18 years ago.
She was a former member of the Native Daughters of the Golden West.
She is also survived by her mother, Mrs. Nellie Johnson of Fresno; three other sisters, Mrs. Margaret Ann Horn and Mrs. Wilda Worden both of Novato, and Mrs. Thelma Hale of Sutter Creek, Amador County and three brothers, Richard Johnson of Novato, William Johnson of Fresno and Theodore Johnson of Sutter Creek.
Funeral arrangements are pending at the Redwood Chapel Funeral Home in Novato.
