Mrs. Susie M. Slape Dies At 57
Mrs. Susie M. Slape, 57, a resident of Mill Valley for 20 years, was found dead yesterday in her home at 84 Hill Street.
Mrs. Francis C. Winkler and her son, William, of Sausalito, investigated when Mrs. Slape did not appear for work as cook at Stivesonís Restaurant in Mill Valley, where Mrs. Winkler is also employed. They found her dead in her bed.
An autopsy was being performed today.
Mrs. Slape was born in Indian Territory, in what is now Oklahoma. She came to Marin County in 1943. She was active in the Flor de Mill Valley lodge.
She is survived by two sons, John O. Slape of Concord and Cecil L. Slape of Novato, a sister, Mrs. Pearl Jones of Petaluma, and three brothers, Lon F. Mitchell of Tiburon, Bob Mitchell of Atoka, Okla., and Cecil Mitchell of Antlers, Okla.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Russell and Gooch Funeral Home, Mill Valley. Burial will be in Mount Tamalpais Cemetery, San Rafael.
