On Sunday night February 3, death called another respected citizen to his final home. Luther C. Dodge, aged 79 years, a native of Vermont, died at the residence of his son, George M. Dodge in San Rafael. In Burlington, Vermont, Oct. 4, 1849, he married Lucia P. Moore, who survives him. Several years ago he came to his coast and for a number of years conducted business successfully in San Francisco as a member of the firm of Dodge, Sweeney & Co. His son George M. Dodge has been prominently identified with Marin County for a number of years, as surveyor of the county at one time and in private business capacity. He was the only son. Henry L. Dodge a brother of the deceased, resides in San Francisco
The funeral was conducted from the residence of his son at 2 o’clock Wednesday, with interment at Mt. Tamalpais Cemetery.
