The funeral of James Gage, who passed away in San Francisco on Monday, was held from the undertaking parlors of Keaton & Dusel, San Rafael. James Gage was born in Berea, Ohio, January 22, 1864.
When he was a small boy his family moved to Olivet, Michigan, where he grew to manhood and was married to Miss Bertha A. Woodbury. In 1898 he came with his family to California.
Eighteen years ago he bought land in the Indian Valley, near Novato, where he built up a poultry business that is known all over the pacific coast. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bertha A. Gage, a son, Guy E. Gage, a daughter, Mrs. W. H. Busher, five grandchildren, and a sister in the east. The remains were brought to Novato and laid away in the family plot in the local cemetery.
