William Maxwell Dies In Hospital
William Maxwell, retired Navy chief petty officer of 865 San Anselmo avenue, San Anselmo, died Saturday at Oakland Veterans Hospital after two monthsí illness. He was 74.
Maxwell had worked several years for the American Distilling Co. and during World War II, for Marinship, since his retirement from the Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Emma, and a brother, Don Maxwell, and a sister, Nina Gilman, both of San Jose.
Maxwell, a native of Kansas, was a member of Ross Valley Post 6744, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and San Anselmo Post 179, American Legion.
Funeral services will be held at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday at Keatonís, San Rafael. Interment will be at 11:30 a.m. in Golden Fate National Cemetery, San Bruno.
