NELL BELDEN
Nell B. Belden, 83, of Kentfield, died yesterday in a local hospital following a one-year illness.
Born in Newark, N.J., Mrs. Belden had lived in Marin County 13 years, last residing at 1415 Sir Francis Drake Boulevard.
She was the granddaughter of Noah Blanchard, the founder of Prudential Life Insurance Co.
Mrs. Belden is survived by two sons, August C. Belden Jr. and Frederick Belden, both of Kentfield; a daughter, Mrs. Norbert M. Murray Jr. of San Anselmo; two sisters, Mrs. Harold Hurlbut of San Francisco and Mrs. Ralph Chase of Camden, S.C., and a brother, Frederick Blanchard of New Jersey.
Private services were held today in San Rafael. Inurnment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Syracuse, N.Y.
The family requests that tributes be made in contributions to the American Cancer Society.
