GUNNAR ANDERSON

Funeral for Gunnar Anderson, 77, formerly of Mill Valley, was held today at Anderson’s Mortuary in San Francisco.

Anderson, who died Sunday in a San Francisco hospital after a long illness, had lived with his wife, Esther, in Mill Valley 19 years prior to moving to San Francisco.

A retired longshoreman, he had worked the San Francisco docks for 45 years. He was a member of the Central Methodist Church in San Francisco, the Swedish Society for Tor Lodge No. 537, and the International Longshoremen Union Local No. 10.

A native of Sweden, he had lived in California for 51 years.

Besides his wife, he is survived by four sisters and three brothers in Sweden.

Burial was at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery.
