GALETTI, Pete, 89, passed away December 11, 2001. Chapel of the Hills, San Anselmo, 415-453-8440.
Passed away on December 11, 2001 at age 89. Born in Tonco, Northern Italy, on February 18, 1912 and arrived in New York at the age of six months. His parents settled in Sausalito, California, where they opened a restaurant. Pete then moved to Fairfax where he worked for Brooks Tile Company, which he later bought and actively worked until he retired in 1974. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Jim Rosa and daughter-in-law, Linda Galetti, and his brother, Louie Galetti of Calistoga. Pete married Virginia Rogero in 1940, who presently resides at the Rafael Convalescent Hospital. He is survived by three children, Larry Galetti, Gini Rowan and Lois Rosa Dean. Also by eight grandchildren, Gina Taverna, (Rosa) of Petaluma, Jeffery Rowan of Danville, Judi Tavenier (Rowan) of Fairfield, Kristy Rosa of Greenbrae, Tony Galetti of Los Angeles, Jill Rowan of Larkspur, Jason Rowan of Fairfax, and Jim Galetti of San Anselmo. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren. Pete and Nin enjoyed frequent trips to Lake Tahoe, his garden, sports, especially baseball, and his family. In the past two years, you could regularly find him visiting his wife, Nin at the Rafael. Pete was a loving family man and will be missed by all. Funeral Mass will be at St. Anselm's Church in Ross on Friday, December 14, 2001 at 11 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or your favorite charity.
