Alexander Hamilton Dies At Home In Inverness
Death relieved the suffering of Alexander Frederick F. Hamilton last Tuesday at his home in Inverness where he had been ill for some time.
He was the husband of Mrs. Julia Shafter Hamilton, extensive property holder here and the daughter of the late Judge James McM. Shafter. The Hamilton properties include about 13,000 acres of ranch land extending from Tomales to Drakes Bay.
Hamilton was 67 years of age and a native of Germany. Prior to coming to California in the early nineties, he was prominent in business circles in New York City.
The funeral was held this afternoon, with services in the Episcopal church in Olema, and burial in the Olema cemetery under the direction of the F. E. Sawyer Company. Besides his wife, the deceased leaves a daughter, Miss Bertha Hamilton.
