ELIZABETH J. HAMMOND
Elizabeth J. Hammond, a Novato resident, died Thursday in a local hospital after a long illness. She was 63.
A native of Montana, she moved to Marin County in 1966, settling first in Mill Valley and then in Novato in 1970.
Miss Hammond owned the White Swan Restaurant in Calistoga, which she operated for the past 10 years. She previously was the owner of two restaurants in the Clear Lake area. She was in the restaurant business for the last 25 years.
She was a member of the Whistlestop in San Rafael.
She is survived by a sister, Dr. Georgianna Sagee of Novato, and two brothers, Walter Hammond and George Hammond, both of Oregon.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Keatonís Chapel of Marin in Novato.
