A funeral for Kingdon W. Booth of Mill Valley, former head of the local offices of the Internal Revenue Service, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Russell and Gooch Funeral Chapel in Mill Valley.
Booth, 71, died Tuesday in a local hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Moretown, Vt. He attended the Montpelier Seminary.
He worked on Wall Street for 11 years and then moved to California in 1939 to work for the San Francisco World’s Fair. He served in the Army finance department at Camp Beale during World War II. He went to work for the Treasury Department after the war. When he retired in 1968, he was the supervisor for the Internal Revenue Service in San Francisco.
He moved to Mill Valley in 1957.
He was a member of the Treasury Post No. 767 American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Ida V. Booth of Mill Valley, and his brother, Aubrey C. Booth of Pawling, N.Y.
The funeral will be held under the auspices of the American Legion. Burial will be in Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno.

A Death Notice in the same paper says he was the brother-in-law of Mrs. Brooks E. Booth of Florida.
