MARIO J. PANDIANI
Mario J. Pandiani, a Marin County resident for 54 years, died yesterday in a local convalescent home of emphysema. He was 78.
Pandiani until hospitalized lived 43 years at 86 Merrydale Road in San Rafael. He was a retired city maintenance worker.
Before that, Pandiani worked 23 years for a cement contractor in San Rafael.
Pandiani was reared in Italy and came to Nicasio in 1916. He then served one year in the Army. After he was discharged, Pandiani settle in Petaluma where he worked as a ranch hand two years. While t here, he married. His wife, Caldine, died in 1933.
Before moving to San Rafael, Pandiani lived in Lucas Valley where he ran a dairy for nine years.
Survivors are a son, James of San Rafael; a sister, Victorial Caspani of San Rafael; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Raphaelís Church in San Rafael. Rosary will be said tomorrow at 8 p.m. at Keatonís Mortuary, San Rafael.

A Death Notice in the same paper states that his late wife was named Claudine and his sister was named Victoria. He was the grandfather of William R., Frank J. and Gina Pandiani of San Rafael, and great-grandfather of Erika J. Pandiani.
