ROBERT L. SPIEGL
Symphony patron

Robert L. Speigl of Greenbrae died at home Nov. 4. He was 74.

He was born in San Francisco and graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 1941.

He served in World War II in the Navy Supply Corp. and retired as a lieutenant.

Mr. Spiegl worked in the office supply business for Schwabacher-Frey in San Francisco and later Diamond National Corp. in Alameda County.

Mr. Spiegl enjoyed many friendships, traveling and classical music. He was a patron of the San Francisco Symphony and Opera Associations and developed a comprehensive library of opera recordings.

Mr. Spiegl is survived by his brother, Ralph Spiegl of Menlo Park.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Merola Fund of the San Francisco Opera Association.
