JERRINE W. DOTY
A funeral for Jerrine “Jerry” W. Doty, a retired Greyhound bus driver from San Anselmo, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Chapel of the Hills in San Anselmo.
She died Saturday after a long illness. She was 71.
She was born in Texas, moving to California in 1942 from Tulsa, Okla. She moved to Marin County in 1946 from San Leandro.
Miss Doty was a Greyhound bus drive for 28 years.
In 1969, she blocked a runway car with her bus in heavy commute traffic on Lombard Street in San Francisco, preventing what could have been a major accident.
She was a member of Local 1225 of the Amalgamated Transit Union of San Francisco.
Surviving are two sisters, Roberta Morrison of Tulsa, Okla., and Dorothy Poor of San Geronimo; three brothers, Dean Satterwhite of Caspar, Wyo., Raymond Satterwhite of San Rafael and Everett Satterwhite of Dallas, Texas.
Visitation will be held until 6 o’clock tonight at the mortuary.
