FRANK J. FILIPPI
A Mass of Christian Burial for Frank J. Filippi, Mill Valley garage owner, will be said at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Mill Valley.
Filippi, 87, died today.
He was born in Turin, Italy. His family moved to San Francisco in 1900. He moved to Mill Valley in 1928 and opened the Elroy Garage. He operated the garage until 1958, when he retired and two of his sons took over.
He and his wife, Lucille M. Filippi, were married for 52 years. She died in 1971.
He is survived by a daughter, Justine Pearse of El Cerrito; three sons, Robert and Walter Filippi, both of Mill Valley, and Richard Filippi of Palo Alto; a sister, Mary Delagnes of Oakland; and 11 grandchildren and four great-gradchildren.
The rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Russell and Gooch Funeral Chapel, Mill Valley. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, San Rafael. The family prefers memorial contributions to the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Fund or a favorite charity.
