Idaho Bride Killed in Marin Crash
The honeymoon of an Idaho couple was tragically interrupted at Ignacio yesterday when the bride was killed in an automobile crash while two highway patrolmen looked on helplessly.
MILDRED SEEFRIED, 34, wife of Carl SEEFRIED of American Falls, ID, was killed on Highway 101 in Ignacio, near Bobo's garage.
The SEEFRIEDs were looking for a restaurant and suddenly turned left in their car. They were hit by a light truck driven by Miller M. McNear, formerly of McNear's Point, now residing in Healdsburg.
SEEFRIED was brought unconscious, with heavy head cuts to the San Rafael Hospital, while his wife's body was taken to Keaton's Mortuary to await shipment to Idaho. SEEFRIED was not seriously injured.
McNear suffered minor cuts and bruises. He was not cited.
The highway patrolmen were standing on the curb in front of the garage when the crash occurred.
