NORMAN BALLANTINE

Norman Ballantine, 56, a former Marin resident, died yesterday at his home in Princeton, N.J. of Hodgkins disease after a two-year illness.

Ballantine was born in Montrose, Pa., and came to Kent Woodlands after service as a sergeant in the Army Engineers Corps in the South Pacific during World War II.

He was employed in the trust department of the San Francisco office of American Trust Co. and in the San Rafael branch for about 15 years, moving to Princeton in 1961. He was employed in fund raising for Princeton University.

He was a member of the Bohemian Club of San Francisco, Bedens Brook Club, Nassau Club and Tiger Inn, all at the university.

He is survived by his wife, Kay. His first wife, Barbara, died in 1964. Also surviving are three children, Norman Ballantine Jr. of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Barbara Loraine of Waynesville, Mo., Peter Ballantine, a student at Blue Ridge School, Charlottesville, Va. and two stepchildren, Douglas Booth at Utah State University, Logan, Utah, and Cindy Booth at the University of Colorado, Boulder.

A memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Monday at the Princeton University Chapel.
