I don't recall them having SSNs, but I might be wrong. It may also depend on the year that they were married.

As to obtaining SSNs for current people, well, that can be a tricky subject. Most people feel this is a path to identity theft. But, they are often listed in public documents, such as divorce and bankruptcy records. There are also many companies on the internet that specialize in finding current info on people. Just do a google search on "people search".
