Dear Ron

I'm searching for the Marriage Certificate/Registration of my gggrandfather James Smith and Johanna Regan who married in May 1850 at the Mission Dolores Church in San Francisco by Father Anthony Anglais. I tried the County Recorder Office who then passed me onto the Roman Catholic Archivist in California, but i'm afraid this person found no record of the marriage. Also no record of a Father Anthony Anglais. Are you able to tell me where i go next? Is it possible all records of marriages at this time could have been destroyed in the San Francisco earthquake of 1906. Here's hoping. Thankx
