"Fascinating reading"
The 1906 San Francisco Earthquake was experienced and documented by a young local woman through letters written to her fiancé in NY. The recently discovered letters are featured in a book, "A Most Dreadful Earthquake" by Dorothy Fowler, published by the California Genealogical Society, & available Feb 2006.
Examples of enthusiastic reviews:
"Anyone with an interest in San Francisco history would enjoy this book.” Pamela Storm, Co-founder, sfgenealogy.com
"This book is much more than another Earthquake and Fire centennial publication, it is also a family history constructed from resources that only a skilled and persistent genealogist could assemble."
SPECIAL PRE-PUBLICATION OFFER: $6 discount until Feb. 1, 2006 ($15 instead of $21, plus handling & CA tax). Details at www.calgensoc.org .
