: "Fascinating reading"
: The 1906 San Francisco Earthquake was experienced and documented by a young local woman through letters written to her fiancé in NY. The recently discovered letters are featured in a book, "A Most Dreadful Earthquake" by Dorothy Fowler, published by the California Genealogical Society, & available Feb 2006.
: Examples of enthusiastic reviews:
: "Anyone with an interest in San Francisco history would enjoy this book.” Pamela Storm, Co-founder, sfgenealogy.com
: "This book is much more than another Earthquake and Fire centennial publication, it is also a family history constructed from resources that only a skilled and persistent genealogist could assemble."
: SPECIAL PRE-PUBLICATION OFFER:$15 plus $3 handling, & CA tax). Details at www.calgensoc.org . As of 5/23/06, there were also a few copies at Cody's Books in San Francisco.
