I'm trying to find information on Pascal Surocco, who was living in San Francisco in December of 1849, when the Christmas Eve fire swept through the blocks near the Plaza.
Surocco was one of the property owners whose buildings were destroyed by the city inorder to create a firebreak to stop the spread of the conflagration and he was the lead plaintiff in a lawsuit brought by some of those property owners (Surocco v. Geary, 1853).
I haven't been able to find any other mention of Surocco, in newspaper articles about the fire or in city directories or in the court's archives or elsewhere. Any suggestions where I might look would be appreciated.
