I have a gap in information regarding the Californio heritage of my mother's family. She died in 1997 at 94 years old. She was the last child of Francisca Paulina Martin (nee SANCHEZ) and Daniel Martin. Her mother was a child of Jose Cristobal and Barbara SANCHEZ. Jose Cristobal was a son of Juan Maria SANCHEZ, the grantee and founder of Rancho Santa Clara del Sur in Ventura County. Juan Maria was a native Californian, born about 1785, and a soldier in the Spanish Army. His father, Jose Tadeo Sanchez arrived in California with his new wife in the around 1780 and was often garrisoned with the missionaries in founding several of the missions. He was also among the founding soldados of the Presidio at Santa Barbara. His son, my great-great Grandfather, also served much of his time in service at the Santa Barbara Presidio. Jose Tadeo died at the San Diego Presidio in 1811.

I have good information about Juan Maria, but very limited information on Jose Cristobal. I also do not know the family name of his wife (my great-grandmother) Barbara. Is there a way I can get this information? I believe they lived in Ventura and Santa Barbara.
